 Best Practices

With sessions winding down, here are four tasks that savvy government affairs professional suggest you do now:

1. Schedule a feedback session with your Client Service Manager. Set aside an hour to discuss what’s working and where there’s room for improvement while your experience is still fresh.

2. Note any changes or refinements to your issue profile. Have your priorities changed? Are issues emerging that you need to monitor during interim sessions, for carryover or pre-filing?

3. Review your goals and information tasks. Are you creating a newsletter or posting reports to a website? Ask your CSM for suggestions on streamlining these tasks.

4. Run year-end reports. Idea: create a summary of all the bills you tracked and their final disposition by selecting ‘current disposition’ on your Private File report. Choose ‘CSV format’ to quickly create an easy-to-read chart.
